The Power of Tenacity

Every month, I sit down to write a message, and I’ll be honest – it’s not always easy. Sometimes, life gets in the way, and priorities shift. But one thing I’ve learned is that giving up isn’t an option when something is important to you.

Recently, a word caught my attention – one I’ve known since childhood but never really paid attention to: tenacity. I looked it up and a realization clicked. Tenacity is more than just persistence; it’s the fuel that drives those who carve their own paths, especially in self-employment.

When you work for yourself, no one is there to give you instructions, set your deadlines, or tell you how things should be done. That’s where tenacity comes in. It’s that unshakable drive to keep going, even when obstacles come up. It’s the reason some people push forward and are successful, while others stop at the first hurdle.

Here’s what tenacity looks like:

• Staying determined, even when faced with challenges.

• Pushing forward, no matter the setbacks.

• Setting goals and seeing them through to completion.

• Refusing to quit, even when the road is tough.

• Doing whatever it takes to achieve success.

• Being strong-willed and resilient.

Take a moment to think about how tenacity plays a role in your professional journey. The more you are aware of its power, the more you can harness it. Because in the end, tenacity is what it takes to succeed.
